The Ralink instructions worked for my girlfriend. It was an old WiFi adapter but still working well. If you use an Ethernet connection, you can get the drivers for it over Windows Update. IF it prompts you to unzip it, then do so. Worked perfectly on Windows 7 64 bit.

There’s also no way to load bit drivers in bit Windows — the drivers work inside the kernel memory space, so if the kernel is using bit addressing, the drivers also have to. Although it was possible to avoid the BSOD by disabling the wireless adapter before shutdown, this seemed awfully tedious, and I found myself often forgetting to do it before clicking the reboot button on the start menu.
In my case I thought I needed the ‘driver’ program first, so installed that first. For the 64 bit Windows, choose Have Disk for the driver wus54g perform a manual setup.

After that, just use Windowx Manager to update the drivers for the wireless adapter by browsing to “C: I followed your instructions for 64bit install and the driver worked. Thank you very much! First Right click on my computer and then properties. Right now, I’m running Win7 Home Premium bit, until I can get a bit card or get my Internet at home working again.
Right Click it and click ‘update driver software’ followed by selecting for Windows to update the software for you.

To cut a long story short, I found it and currently hosting it on my Dropbox to help out fellow users. Unzip them, I just put them in a new file on my desktop.
