Since I cannot boot up I decided I want to do a system restore to a date before I installed Nero as I strongly suspect it is a problem I’ve heard about with Vista and software such as Nero which can create virtual drives. I can’t seem to find any that work on the motherboard cd which came with my computer so I went on the Gigabyte website and downloaded the intel ICH9R driver for windows vista x86 bit from here:

Posted August 9, There are certain chipset specific drivers related to hard drives, and if they are the wrong ones you will never be able to boot off the hard drive without doing a repair install satx Windows.

I went into Disk Management and gigabyt partition was showing up black so I right clicked on the drive box next to the partition box and selected reactivate disk and it was fine after that!

Sign In Sign Up. I’d hate to copy all the data over again, it took forever. As for a NON raid, I would think they would be more likely closer or not noticable. Perhaps they messed up the assembly of the board at the factory and applied the wrong color connectors to the JMicron ports.
I was able to decouple the raid through the windows version of MSM and see the files on the drives, but to restore the mirror I had to blank both drives and start over. ichr9

I had the mirror crash early on in my build, and the Intel MSM software started rebuilding the other drive, but when I rebooted it was totally munged both drives. The problem I”m having however is getting the Hard drive to read thru any sata drive on a gigaybte boot. I’m not sure you do, but just in case. I’d pick the RAID controller that’s integrated into the chipset i. Intel Arid i5 k C0 4. It’s the same deal, really.
