I’ve got a little experience with the Canon copiers we have here on site, but this simple problem has me totally vexed.

I doubt it’s paper size or orientation if you’re getting accordion jams, either of those would give a standard jam either stop in place or feed out one and jam. The copier loads fine, but when we try and run a copy the paper gets fed out of the trays fine runs up through the side door and then concertinas before it gets any further The time now is New development, after taking a proper look at what’s going on, I spotted the toner stuck to the top roller on the side door, it looks like it isn’t getting taken in by the fuser I’m going to call this a dead horse and return it to the sale room, don’t think we can justify its repair.

If the reg roller is not turning on then it may be the sensor at the reg roller not detecting the paper lead edge. Not sure if its a photo reflector type or photo interrupter. Bookmarks Bookmarks Digg del. Would that affect the paper coming out of the tray, or would it jam up in the place I’m talking about?

Maybe a broken component hanging in the paper path or a rough edge on a paper guide. Results 1 to 7 of 7.

Any clues would be greatly appreciated? The paper literally falls down as soon as you open the side door. I can’t see any rollers or even an opening where the paper should be headed, partially because the door doesn’t open nearly far enough to do anything constructive in there!

Thanks teebee, the paper doesn’t have any nics or rough edges, it just accordians up so I’m guessing the roller isn’t turning, I’m going to pull out the item labelled “2” which looks like it could be a drum but should give me a clear view. It’s a mechanical obstruction, whether its a roller not turning on clutch or out of place.

Look at the lead edge of the jammed paper for any nick would indicate the location of the obstruction and check all rollers for operation.
