In reply to BossDweeb’s post on March 3, I was not having any issues before Windows update installed the non Nvidia created driver update which crashed my computer. When you did this were any new graphics drivers installed? Radeon R4 Stoney Ridge. I tried installing one of the WHQL files but it tells me it can’t find a suitable device. Reboot again before reinstalling the new drivers.

Nvidia Quadro FX 1500M and Quadro FX 2500M Graphics Driver
BossDweeb Replied on March 4, When I try to install the driver from the dell site for my laptop, a Precision M90, it won’t install because it says it’s for Win XP and shuts down. Some older programs might run poorly or not run at all.
This sort of thing does happen. My experience tends to confirm it. It looks like Windows update have installed a wrong driver for the display adpater and you are unable to install the actual driver for the card.
Click the Compatibility tab. You may try installing the driver in compatibility mode and check if that helps. You can not post a blank message. In reply to SRachal’s post on March 3, Under Compatibility mode, check the Run this program in compatibility mode for: If it installs at all, it may be worth trying a newer driver for the FXm.

Until then I have to live with the crappy resolution. When you did this were any new graphics drivers installed? Win update recently installed a new driver for my video card and it took two days for me to login to safe mode to remove it but when I removed the bad driver it took out all the Nividia drivers. The laptop now opens the files that it was choking on before – so job done.
